Geek out!

While taking a break from wheelbuilding I found this.

What leapt out at me:

So much auroral activity.

So many thunderstorms.

Such crappy, droning music.

The amount of the planet *without* obvious human influence (city lights) seems frighteningly small.

And you? What leapt out?

I watched this a week or so ago. Pretty amazing!

The light pollution satellite images I've seen show much the same thing, just not in moving pictures. That is what I was struck by. I am constantly amazed by how many lights are on all over the world and to think of all the energy being used to keep them going. It's just nuts.

Even flying to Interbike or back again at night is pretty "enlightening" when it comes to this. You'd be amazed how many lights are on all across the Rockies!

All the lightening strikes are pretty neat too
